As a planner/coordinator the only real way to participate in one of these shoots is to run the whole dang thing! So I decided one day to do one (because my friend gave me the confidence to think that I could do it!) I reached out to a few of my vendor friends to see if they wanted to do one with me and to my surprise they said yes!!!
So i found myself in the situation of not just having the idea and wanting to do this but needing to actually make it happen!
I got in contact with a photographer who is a friend of a friend and once she was on board I really hit the ground running!! Getting vendors signed up to participate, a location and figuring out a date that would hopefully work for those of us who were full time in the business or had 9-5's on top of their vendor business. Once everything was pretty much set I found out that date didn't work with my photographer, who in these kinds of situations is sortof the guest of honor so now I am scrambling!!
My wonderful friend Elisa who was already booked to do the hair and make up recommended Taylor to work with us. I reached out to her and we hit it off and I am so thrilled that she was able to work with us.
I ended up being really stressed about living up to the expectations of these really amazing vendors that had agreed to work with me. I wanted to do a good job and make sure their time, energy and in some cases money wasn't a wasted enterprise! I don't want to toot my own horn but I do think that things turned out REALLY well and I absolutely love how things turned out. Here are some of the shots from the shoot but we have only gotten sneak peaks so far and I am very excited to see some additional photos from this great event!
